COUCH TO 5K

Our first ‘Couch to 5k’ of 2023 was completed on March 26th.  Well done to the ‘graduates’ who have now signed up to be full club members – we look forward to running with you.

It’s been an amazing journey from those first shaky steps to our first 5k. Can’t quiet believe we did it.  Fantastic support from the club leaders and members.  Always a top welcome and a top brew and biccies at the end.  Brilliant.  Thank you so much everyone. 

Taking up running can seem like a scary prospect, especially if you feel out of shape or unfit.

Probably the biggest challenge a new runner faces is not knowing how or where to start. Often when trying to get into exercise, we can overdo it, feel defeated and give up when we’re just getting started.

Couch to 5K works because it starts with a mix of running and walking to gradually build up your fitness and stamina.
Week 1 involves running for just a minute at a time, creating realistic expectations and making the challenge feel achievable right from the start.

Couch to 5K is for everyone. Whether you’ve never run before or you just want to get more active, Couch to 5K is an easy way of getting fitter and healthier. Our run leaders will be with you every step of the way following our tailored plan week by week to help you achieve your goal.

What we offer:

9 sessions led by our experienced Run Leaders. Showing you how to do basic warm-up and cool down stretches. The walk/run with weekly increases. A final complete 5k run with presentation afterwards and a certificate!

“When I needed to lose some weight and get fitter I turned to Mossley Running Clubs ‘Couch 2 5k’. It was great! Week by week adding more running in and starting to increase the time and distance was perfect for me and the rest of the group.
